Resumen
La representación cinematográfica de colectivos sociales resulta relevante, ya que a través de ella se puede fomentar la creación, difusión y pervivencia de estereotipos acerca de estos, e igualmente puede ayudar en la ruptura de los prejuicios y estereotipos existentes, aspecto necesario para que un colectivo deje de estar discriminado y marginado. Esto es especialmente importante en el caso de colectivos minoritarios ya que se pueden ver afectados en mayor medida por estas representaciones. De ahí la importancia de la representación de la transexualidad en el cine, ya que se trata de un colectivo minoritario que ha sido víctima de discriminación durante la historia. Emprendemos un estudio y análisis de las películas que
han representado a esta, dividiendo el análisis en diferentes etapas. Para ello, analizaremos
tres películas consideradas relevantes para comprender, de una manera general, cómo el cine ha representado la transexualidad.
Abstract
The cinematic representation of social groups becomes relevant, because through it, the creation, dissemination and persistence of stereotypes about these can be promoted, and may also help in the breakdown of prejudices and stereotypes, which is required so that a
collective is not discriminated against and marginalized. This is especially important in the case of minority groups as may be affected more by these representations. From there the importance of representation of transsexuality in the cinema, since it is a minority group that has been discriminated against throughout history. We undertake a study and analysis of the films that have represented this by dividing the analysis at different stages. To do this, we
look at three films considered important to understand, in a general way, how cinema has represented transsexuality.
