Resumen
La evolución de los soportes documentales, desde las tablillas de arcilla hasta los libros electrónicos legibles en dispositivos de lectura como ―e-books‖, ordenadores personales, teléfonos móviles o tabletas siempre se ha visto acompañada por la adaptación y proactividad de las bibliotecas y de sus servicios a los usuarios. Los bibliotecarios deben conocer el funcionamiento de todo tipo de instrumentos de lectura, así como el circuito de las nuevas formas de edición y distribución de libros electrónicos, para satisfacer las necesidades de todos sus lectores. El nuevo servicio cooperativo eBiblio Andalucía, puesto en marcha conjuntamente por el Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte y por la Junta de Andalucía responde a una demanda social de este tipo de lectura, aprovecha la infraestructura bibliotecaria de la red andaluza y facilita la descarga legal de contenidos actuales. Los primeros meses de este servicio permiten un análisis de sus ventajas y la evaluación de resultados. El balance es positivo, aunque hay aspectos que deberán mejorar en el futuro, escuchando sugerencias y opiniones de los usuarios.
Abstract
The evolution of documentary media, from clay tablets to electronic books readable using devices as "e-books", personal computers, mobile phones or tablets has been always accompanied by the adaptation and proactivity of libraries and their services for the users. Librarians must know the operation of all these reading tools, and the circuit of the new forms of electronic publishing and distribution of books, to meet the needs of all readers. The new cooperative service eBiblio Andalusia, jointly launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the Junta of Andalusia, responds to a social demand for this type of reading, uses the infrastructure of the Andalusian library network and facilitates legal download of current contents. The first months of operation of this new loan service allow us an analysis of their advantages and a performance evaluation. The balance is positive, although there are aspects that should improve in the future, listening to the suggestions and user reviews.
