Resumen
El Big Data ha sido un tema que ha ido evolucionando junto con el auge de las nuevas tecnologías de la información (TIC) en lo que hoy algunos autores describen como la Era de la Información o la cuarta Revolución Industrial. El Big Data conlleva un análisis muy profundo de la información y tratamiento de los datos que permite mejorar así innumerables aspectos de la vida. Actualmente, ya está siendo utilizado por muchas empresas para maximizar beneficios. En este trabajo, se pretende destacar la importancia de este fenómeno y dotar de valor a la categoría de Information and Library Science dentro del Big Data visualizándola como tal. Como objetivo principal nos proponemos describir los diferentes campos que engloba el Big Data en la actualidad centrándonos en el estudio de la categoría Information & Library Science y descubrir cuál fue el primer autor en escribir sobre este conocimiento.
Abstract
Big Data has been a topic in evolution together with the rise of the new technologies of the information (ICT) in what today some authors describe as the Age of the Information or The Fourth Industrial Revolution. Big Data carries a very deep analysis of the information and data processing to improve so many aspects of life. Nowadays, it is used by the companies to maximize profits. In this paper it is intended to highlighting the importance of this phenomenon and to give value to the category of Information and Library Science within Big Data as such. As the main objective we propose to describe the different fields studied by Big Data today and the application of this to the category Information & Library Science and discover who was the first author to write about this knowledge.
