Resumen
En un mundo en el que lo analógico está siendo abandonado por la cultura digital, es necesario echar una mirada atrás para no olvidar nuestros orígenes, nuestra cultura textual. Pese a que algunos autores han querido ver realidades enfrentadas entre lo viejo y lo nuevo, es conveniente matizar el impacto de Internet en campos como el del libro antiguo. Es evidente que la red ha proporcionado herramientas útiles para un mejor conocimiento de la producción cultural europea desde la Edad Media hasta el siglo XIX. Ahora bien, no todo lo que circula en la web es positivo, de ahí la necesidad de contar con criterios, instrumentos y fuentes de información adecuadas que ayuden a comprender un poco mejor el apasionante mundo del libro antiguo.
Abstract
In a world in which the analogue is fast being abandoned in favour of the digital, we need to look back in order not to forget our origins and our textual culture. While a number of authors have insis- ted on seeing a clash between old and new, the Internet has in fact had only a qualified impact on fields such as that of antique books. It is true that the Internet has provided useful tools for improving our knowledge of European cultural production from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century. However, not everything found on the Web is useful, and we therefore need suitable criteria, instruments and information sources to help us improve our understanding of the fascinating world of antique books.
