Resumen
Se ha realizado un estudio de los cambios que se han introducido en la edición abreviada española de la Clasificación Decimal Universal publicada en 2016 respecto a la versión abreviada anterior publicada en 2004. Se ha realizado un análisis de contenido de ambas ediciones, teniendo en cuenta las indicaciones sobre las actualizaciones en la propia Clasificación Decimal Universal de 2016 y se han estudiado de los cambios indicados en la revista Extensiones & Correcciones a la CDU. Los cambios encontrados se han clasificado en dos grupos. En el primer grupo, cambios que implican supresión o inclusión de elementos. En este grupo el cambio más importante es la eliminación del símbolo subdivídase cómo. Y en el segundo grupo, se estudian los cambios estructurales que se han producido. Todos estos cambios apuntan hacia la idea de convertir la clasificación en un esquema más facetado, lo que tiene una incidencia directa en la longitud de las notaciones. Esta situación va en una dirección contraria a la práctica en bibliotecas de la clasificación cuya tendencia es a ser más breve
Abstract
Changes between the Spanish abbreviated version of the Universal Decimal Classification published in 2016 and the prior abbreviated edition published in 2004 have been analysed. A content analysis of both editions has been made, considering the indications on the updates in the abbreviated Universal Decimal Classification of 2016 itself and a study of the indicated changes in the journal Extensions and Corrections to the UDC. The changes have been classified into two groups. In the first group, there are included changes that imply elimination or inclusion of elements. In this group the most important change is the removal of the symbol ‘subdivided as’. The second group include the structural changes that are studied. All these changes point towards the idea of converting the classification into a more faceted scheme, which has a direct impact on the length of the notations. This idea goes in the opposite direction to the practice in libraries where the tendency is for the notations to be shorter.
