Resumen
Se presentan los primeros resultados de un estudio sobre los sistemas de bibliotecas de universitarios de España, Francia y Australia. Su objetivo es el establecimiento de indicadores que nos permitan comparar, identificar y conocer la realidad del rendimiento en cifras de los sistemas bibliotecarios universitarios estudiados y su posición respecto a otras instituciones similares, para ello, se contó con los datos obtenidos directamente de sus fuentes oficiales correspondientes en REBIUN, ASIBU y CAUL. El estudio aportó un conjunto de indicadores de primer y segundo nivel elaborados con datos consolidados de dichas instituciones, en los que se relacionan tres áreas fundamentales: presupuesto, gestión de los recursos y eficiencia en el uso de los mismos. Basándose en estos indicadores comunes, cada institución está en condiciones de situar su propio posicionamiento frente al resto, y tomar acciones para mejorar sus aspectos débiles y mantener sus fortalezas. Finalmente se proponen cuáles serían las decisiones a tomar por los distintos sistemas de gestión bibliotecarios considerando la utilización de estos indicadores.
Abstract
The first results of a study on the systems of university libraries of Spain, France and Australia are presented. The objective is the establishment of indicators that allow us to compare, identify, and know the reality of the performance in figures of the studied universitary librarian systems and its position with respect to other similar institutions. For this purpose, it took in account with data obtained directly from their respective official sources REBIUN, ASIBU and CAUL. The study provided a set of first and second level indicators developed with consolidated data of these institutions, in which are related three main areas: budget, management of resources and efficiency in the use of them. Based on these common indicators, each institution is able to locate its own position compared to the rest, and take actions to improve their weaknesses and maintain their strengths. Finally, are proposed what would be the decisions taken by the different librarían management systems considering the use of these indicators.
